City Council - VOTE on Ridge Top Protection Plan

Attention Association Members:

The vote for the Hillside and Ridgetop Plan from MPC in the Knoxville City Council is set for 7:00 pm Tuesday May 17^th in the Main Assembly Room of the City County Building. We need your help.

We have won half the battle with our fine efforts in getting Knox County Commission to vote down this plan. We need your help again to call and email the Knoxville City Council members and ask them to vote down the plan so a new process can be started. It is very important to the real estate construction industry that both the City and County be on the same page. The last thing we need in this current market is any confusion.

You need to be aware of two newspaper articles that came out Monday of this week that are important. It has been alleged in the Halls Shopper article by Betty Bean that a person or persons who may be from our industry set a fire at Knox County Commissioner Tony Norman’s home. This will unfortunately increase the turnout and phone calls of the supporters of the Hillside and Ridgetop plan. These allegations were refuted and contradicted in the Hayes Hickman article in the Knoxville News Sentinel. However, the supporters of the plan already emailed their group the Betty Bean article.

Below is the current projected vote count in the City Council vote for the Hillside and Ridgetop Plan from MPC. Please start first with the Council Members leaning against the plan. Then call and email the ones against the plan. Then those leaning for the plan. And finally those for the plan. We need five votes against the plan to win.
